automobiles with good gas milage
INDEX
automobiles with a good gas milage - or a very low fuel consumption - even for a given type of engine, and, for only conventional materials. There is very low drag and a low weight, compared with conventional, with the two improvements being interdependent.
The very low drag gives very low air resistance, even at high speeds. Consequently very little fuel is used at any steady speed. The low weight means that the new "airliner cars", or "airliner automobiles", accelerate very easily, so that, again, very little fuel is used. Hence the potentially excellent fuel economy.

There are three brief preliminary pages, three main technical pages, a special, mostly technical, page for black and white rapid downloading, three performance pages, a page discussing the patent, and, finally, a black and white summary page.

The Cars Home Page indicates the general principles on which the drag and weight are reduced. |

The Cars Contents Page includes a technical summary specifically for each of the three main pages. |

The main technical Pages.

The first main page discusses the present proposals to give very low drag - less than a half of conventional. The very low drag provides the main contribution to the very low fuel consumption, or good gas milage. |

This main page discusses the corresponding proposals for low weight. The weight proposals are based on conventional materials.
The low weight provides the second most important contribution to the very low fuel consumption. |

This third main page discusses the specialised subject of retractable tailcones. The Page additionally includes the Abstract. |

This page discusses mainly technical aspects of car and patent and is intended for black and white rapid download.
Follows from the uniquely low drag and low weight with conventional materials.
Again, because of the uniquely low drag and uniquely low weight with conventional materials.
Follows from the uniquely low drag.
As new aerodynamic cars potentially have both the lowest drag and the lowest weight of all cars on the road.
The patent claims are based on an interdependent combination of items.
Success has been achieved with the UK and PCT applications. Development is now required.
